Proposal
As a good citizen of the commonwealth of
Patton, Pennsylvania, I propose a community center for the youth. It shall be a safe place for them to conform
and to “hang out” out, as they like to put it.
I believe the best location for a community center would be where the 7D
window factory is currently abandoned and falling apart. Many of you, and you know who you are,
complain about the factory frequently.
However, I believe it’s imperative the factory is torn down for 3
reasons.
The first reason is all of the things
that inhabit the factory. It is a
habitat for all animals. Owls, birds,
and even squirrels have been in 7D at one point. These animals defecate inside the abandoned
factory and the feces make it very unsanitary.
There were even hobos living in there at one point in the first couple
years after they closed up. Many were
drug addicts that used it as a place to do drugs as well as do them.
The kids of our town have different
stories about the factory. Some examples
are it’s haunted, someone hid money in there, or someone died in there. No matter the story, their curiosity
overcomes them and they are inclined to explore the place. Once they go inside they are at risk of the
place collapsing, people and animals that could be inside, as well the police
showing up because it is no trespassing.
Therefore, the factory is just getting the youth of our community into
trouble.
The last priority that I address is how
unsafe the factory is. It has an old flat
roof, so water constantly drips in, which oxidizes everything made of
metal. This obviously makes it very
weak. On top of that you have chemicals
that were not disposed of properly by 7D.
Many of these chemicals are corrosive, poisonous, and harmful to
humans. You can only imagine how
disastrous it could be if some meddling kids accidently spilled these
chemicals. They must be taken away and
disposed of properly when the factory is torn down.
To conclude, I would like to say a
community center would be nothing but good.
Our youth would not have to worry about having a safe place for them to
be. We would also lose a hell of a
hazard and an eyesore on the community of our town of Patton. Weigh the options and take into consideration
these factors, and I know you will make the right choice.
I really liked your idea of including a commuinity center in your town. I felt mentioning the specific building and why something needed to be done with it really helped your cause. Perhaps you could add more information about how the community center would effect the people in your town.
ReplyDeleteIt is sure a good idea to get rid of the factory. I know I always avoided that factory when I was around it. I am just unsure if it would be safe to build on that spot after it was torn down.
